Divertimenti (string quintet)

A number of fine quintets have been written for the double-cello lineup. First tonight is Boccherini's famous String Quintet, which will have many listeners exclaiming "Oh, but I know this!". Sally Beamish's Divertimenti was written for this very ensemble, and is followed by DvořŠk's luscious Terzetto. Finally, Schubertís great C Major Quintet forms the backbone of the evening's programme.
