Activities
 

The Rotary Clubs of Darlington and Northallerton combine to organize a YOUNG MUSICIAN OF THE YEAR competition in Darlington every November.  All entrants are also invited to perform at a non-competitive Gala Concert in Northallerton the following May.

 

Membership
 

Potential competitors should live within 20 miles of either Darlington or Northallerton.  Entries normally close on 31 Aug each year.  Enquiries can be made at any time, either from teachers or pupils, by contacting 01609-751136.

Gala Concert – Rotary Young Musician of the Year

All competitors from Nov 2007 are invited to perform their favourite pieces, for their and our enjoyment

Tickets £5, children £1, free entry to competitors
Ticket price includes a light buffet after the concert, with wine and soft drinks also available (donations welcome)

 


Saturday November 8th 2008 at 7.00 pm at the Liddiard Theatre, Polam High School, Darlington

Grand Final – Rotary Young Musician of the Year

During the morning and afternoon the entrants compete in 3 age ranges in each of 3 instrumental groups (Strings, Woodwind/Brass, and Piano).  The winners of these 9 classes perform again at the evening’s Grand Final, after which the overall winner is announced and reprises his or her winning piece.
